Hysteretic Behavior and Multi-Wave Buckling of Assembled Buckling-Restrained Braces Wrapped with Fiber Clothes

To rapidly repair the damaged buckling-restrained brace serving as energy absorption member during earthquake, assembled method of wrapping component with FRP cloth is proposed. In this research, a series cyclic tests on six (ABRB) wrapped three kinds FRPs (carbon fiber, glass fiber and basalt fiber) were performed. The tested results show that all specimens excellent hysteretic performance similar damage mode, namely core unit fracture, whilst short better ductility, but worse dissipation ability than long specimen. A parametric analysis performed based finite element model validated against test result. effects gap friction force between infilled concrete thickness are analyzed. modes multi-wave buckling units exhibited, influence evaluated. Based simulation analysis, CFRP suggested to be used in brace.
